Many of us have friends or family who are adult addicts. How do we set appropriate boundaries with them so that we feel safe when they are living with us or visiting?
Pastor Susan’s Thursday Therapy post on Tips for Setting Limits and Boundaries provides some helpful information that we can use in our own lives or in advising others caught in the “ugly” of life.
If you don’t have an adult addict living in your home, you can still use this information in your relationship with him or her—for example, when an addict is a guest for dinner or comes to your home for a family gathering.
The boundary and consequence will be different, but you’ll get the idea of how to go about setting appropriate limits on an addict in order for your family to feel comfortable.
